Dr. Niel Oberholzer brings over 35 years of experience in financial education and leadership, making him a highly valued member of AFTI’s Advisory Board. Holding a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Johannesburg, he has a distinguished career in designing and delivering professional and academic programs that prepare finance leaders to excel in dynamic environments.

Previously, Dr. Oberholzer served as Director of the Emirates Institute for Financial Studies (EIF, formerly EIBFS) and as Director at the American University of Emirates, leading curriculum development, program delivery, and faculty management. His extensive experience in overseeing accredited programs, designing rigorous curricula, and integrating the latest industry insights equips AFTI with unmatched guidance on learning strategies, content development, and quality assurance.

As an advisory board member, Dr. Oberholzer helps AFTI shape impactful, market-relevant programs for banking, finance, and leadership professionals across the GCC. His strategic insights enable AFTI to align its offerings with industry trends, ensure practical applicability, and maintain the highest standards of training excellence.

In addition, he serves as a Venture Partner at Z Nation Labs, where he actively contributes to sustainable development initiatives.

Holding a Master of Arts in Economics, an MBA, and an MSc in People and Organisational Development from the University of Sussex (Roffey Park Institute), he combines deep business acumen with expertise in human behaviour to deliver interventions that are both strategic and actionable.

A certified practitioner in human-centred design thinking, Fiby applies the Luma Institute framework—Looking, Understanding, Making—to develop solutions tailored to each organisation’s culture and challenges. As a trained facilitator of The Leadership Challenge® model, he equips leaders at all levels to inspire high-performing teams and foster environments that enable growth and innovation.

Fiby’s strengths include organisational design, talent management, and change leadership. He helps organisations optimise structures, attract and retain talent, and implement practical strategies that build long-term capability. Currently, as Co-founder and Chief Organisational Development Officer at FSC3 Organisational Development, he delivers human-centred interventions that create measurable impact and sustainable results.

Chartered MCSI – Senior Manager Training & Facilitator

Hisham has been teaching CFA Level I preparation courses since 2003, bringing over two decades of experience in financial education and professional training. His expertise spans a wide range of CFA curriculum areas, including Quantitative Methods, Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, Equity Valuation, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.

In addition to his CFA teaching, Hisham has delivered specialized training programs to financial institutions, regulators, and government entities across the GCC, Levant, and North Africa. His work has taken him to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Palestine, Morocco, Algeria, and Syria, where he has supported the professional development of banking professionals, regulators, and investment practitioners.
